§ 90.122. Vehicle standards.

(a)

No taxicab shall be driven or operated upon the streets of the city unless the same is in safe condition and free from mechanical defects, and it must further meet the following requirements:

(1)

Have a current valid state of Texas motor vehicle registration and inspection sticker and be in compliance with the safety requirements of the Texas Motor Vehicle Code as amended; and

(2)

Have a seat belt for each passenger; and

(3)

Have an operating heater and air conditioner; and

(4)

Have a fire extinguisher that is in good operating order; and

(5)

Have a taxi-top light.

(b)

The vehicle identification number and license number of each taxicab must match the numbers listed for that taxicab on the permit application.

(c)

Insignia of taxicab must be the same as that indicated on the permit application.
