§ 2.370.20. Created; composition; terms; officers.

(a)

The veterans affairs advisory committee is created and shall be composed of seven members appointed by the city council, the Hays County Veterans Resources Officer, and the Texas State University Associated Student Government Veterans Liaison.

(b)

The city council will endeavor to appoint five persons to the committee who are residents of San Marcos or its extraterritorial jurisdiction and are veterans, two persons who are the spouses or surviving spouses of veterans, collectively representing the various war eras and veterans organizations existing within San Marcos and its extraterritorial jurisdiction. All members of the committee shall be voting members.

(c)

The members of the commission are appointed for staggered three-year terms.
