§ 2.370.21. General powers and duties.

(a)

The veterans affairs advisory committee will act in an advisory capacity to the city council on issues that are unique to veterans within San Marcos and its extraterritorial jurisdiction.

(b)

The committee will:

(1)

Help to ensure that traditions which honor the memory of our veterans are perpetuated;

(2)

Advise and make recommendations on policy and legislation of interest to veterans on a local, state, or national level;

(3)

Serve as a network for the exchange of information relative to veterans activities;

(4)

Discuss and make recommendations on issues that are relative to veterans within San Marcos; and,

(5)

Make recommendations on any improvements to the Veterans Memorial.
