A police department escort is required for any vehicle that exceeds the width, height
or length limitations established by state law to be operated upon public streets,
except on the main lanes of any interstate highway, within the city. The chief of
police shall determine the time and number of police personnel to provide escort services
to an applicant.
(b)
Each escort shall be requested on a form provided by the police department. The request
shall be accompanied by a fee, to be determined by the chief of police on a case-by-case
basis to reflect the cost of issuance of the permit and providing the escort.
