§ 62.216. Purposes.

The purposes of this division are:

(1)

To provide backup emergency medical services to San Marcos-Hays County Emergency Medical Services, Inc., or its successor, through the provision of emergency medical technician services and ambulance driver services for the second-call ambulance operated by the San Marcos Fire Department;

(2)

To distribute services duty equitably among the qualified fire department employees of the San Marcos Fire Department;

(3)

To ensure that employees performing services are in an on-duty status for purposes of workers' compensation, health and medical, disability, pension and retirement coverages and benefits and all other related purposes;

(4)

To provide a uniform rate of pay for performance of services.
