§ 58.126. Misuse of library property.

  • (a)

    It is unlawful for any person to:

    (1)

    Fail to return to the public library any library material for a period longer than two weeks after notice in writing is sent by the library advising that the material is overdue. The notice shall be sent to the address noted on the current library card of the borrower. It is the responsibility of the card holder to immediately notify the library of any change of address.

    (2)

    Damage in any way, other than reasonable wear, any materials, fixtures, furniture or structures belonging to the public library.

    (3)

    Take library materials out of the public library without going through the prescribed checkout procedure.

    (b)

    Prosecution under this section shall in no way interfere with the library's right to collect fines or fees from the person prosecuted.
