§ 2.351. Created; composition; terms; officers.

  • (a)

    The convention and visitors bureau advisory board is created, composed of 14 voting members appointed by the city council as described in subsection (b), and five non-voting ex-officio members: the city manager or a designee of the city manager, the president of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, a representative designated by Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos, the economic development director of [the] Greater San Marcos Partnership or a designee of the partnership president, and the Main Street Manager.

    (b)

    The city council will endeavor to appoint persons who are representative of the following groups, organizations or interests as voting members of the board:

    1 Texas State University-San Marcos Athletics
    1 Texas State University-San Marcos Academics/Media/Public Relations

     

    (c)

    The voting members of the board are appointed for staggered three-year terms.
