§ 14.002. Adoption of codes.  


Latest version.
  • (a)

    The following codes are adopted to govern construction and construction-related activities:

    (1)

    International Building Code 2015 Edition, including Appendices C, E, F, I.

    (2)

    International Property Maintenance Code 2015 Edition, including Appendix A.

    (3)

    International Mechanical Code 2015 Edition.

    (4)

    International Plumbing Code 2015 Edition.

    (5)

    International Fuel Gas Code 2015 Edition.

    (6)

    International Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings 2015 Edition.

    (7)

    National Electrical Code 2014 Edition.

    (8)

    International Energy Conservation Code 2009 Edition.

    (9)

    International Fire Code 2015 Edition, including Appendices B, D, E, F, G, I and J.

    (10)

    International Swimming Pool and Spa Code 2015 Edition.

    (11)

    International Existing Building Code 2015 Chapter 4.

    (b)

    If there is a conflict between a state law and an adopted code or this chapter, then the state law will take precedence. In cases of conflicts between a provision of the San Marcos Code and these adopted codes, the provision of the San Marcos Code will take precedence. Otherwise, all structures shall be designed, built, and maintained in accordance with these adopted codes.

    (c)

    Local amendments to these adopted codes are contained in Articles 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 which are attached to the ordinance from which this article was derived and incorporated herein by reference.

    (d)

    Any reference to the existing building code should be considered to mean the 2015 International Building Code with Appendices and local amendments adopted herein.
